Our Story:

It started with a conversation I had with my retired African mother about who she was before motherhood, before expectations, before the roles she fulfilled so well. When I asked what she loved or wanted to learn, she paused. The silence said it all. Her life had been shaped more by obligation than desire. And now, with more time to herself, the question lingered: Who was she, really?

Then came my own moment of reckoning. In 2020, the pandemic drained me. I was burnt out, unfulfilled, and moving through life on autopilot. I realized I had been following a path, but not necessarily my path. I needed a reset, to reconnect with myself, refine my identity, and define how I wanted to live. All this confidence, clarity and clarity required, need to begin within.

That's how Baysil Concept was born. Inspired by “basil,” a symbol of protection and passage, Baysil (with a Y) represents building safeguards from the inside out to live life on your own terms.
